So we've purchased this house with all Joe's family's memories and such and are getting ready to rip everything out of it. Doesn't that just make you feel warm inside? No? How about this...
Since we found out Joe's Grandmother had decided to move into an apartment we have been seriously discussing (mostly me talking, him saying no) purchasing the home. Several times I told myself to just forget about the house and let it go, but I haven't been able. There's just some very special feeling I get when I walk through the door. I never have really been able to pinpoint what it is but I'm pretty sure the glass doorknobs have something to do with it...or maybe it's the measuring stick behind the kitchen door...or maybe it's the beautiful wooden stairs that Joe's granddad helped build. Whatever it is, it took hold of me. I knew we couldn't let this treasure leave our family.
Don't get me wrong. There is a LOT of work to be done, but our main goal is to modernize this house while still letting it look it's age.
I hope this can be the story of the rejuvenation (not renovation) of our family's home.
